On October 29th, 2024, Kurt Weiss was the featured speaker at the University of California, Santa Barbara. The presentation in ME11, Introductory Concepts of Mechanical Engineering, was arranged under the direction of R&D Engineer and lecturer, Kirk Fields.

This year, Mr. Weiss’s presentation entitled, Traffic Collision Reconstruction: Details of a Crash Analysis, demonstrated the engineering principles, methodology, instruments and software he often uses to reconstruct traffic collisions. His presentation featured numerous examples of real-world crashes, and explored in detail a traffic collision fatality involving a motorcycle and an SUV.
