78th Annual AAFS Scientific Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana 2026

The 78th Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences was held February 9th through 14th in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Kurt Weiss contributed to the Engineering and Applied Sciences as well as the Jurisprudence section programs.

His first submission entitled, “Sun Altitude and Azimuth Causes a Fatal Crash with Flatbed Trailer,” was presented during Friday’s Engineering session. His second submission entitled, “An Off-Duty Officer Fatal Traffic Collision Leads to Misdemeanor Negligent Manslaughter Charges,” was presented at Friday’s Jurisprudence session.
