On October 18, 2022, Kurt Weiss was the featured speaker at the University of California, Santa Barbara. The presentation in ME11, Introductory Concepts of Mechanical Engineering, was arranged under the direction of Senior Development Engineer, Kirk Fields.

This year, marking 20 consecutive appearances, Mr. Weiss’s presentation was entitled, Traffic Collision Reconstruction: Demonstrating the Science of Crash Analysis. Using a real-world, multi-vehicle collision, he detailed the engineering principles, instruments, software, and methodology he uses to reconstruct traffic collisions.
