Polyester seat belt webbing elongation tests were performed at the University of California, Santa Barbara. A constant webbing grip separation rate of 2.0in/min was maintained by a Material Test System 810 tension-compression machine. A 5,000lb rated load cell was used. Webbing elongation was measured by an EIR laser extensometer.
